Ignition Pathways is a training and support programme, run by JERICHO, which eouips volunteers from churches and other voluntary organisations with the skills they need to deliver practical job search support and guidance to local unemployed people.

Activity

Comprehensive support materials are provided and can be delivered as a weekly course, used as part of an on-going drop-in, job club or as one-to-one support and mentoring. Newly developed workbooks and support guides are ideal for situations where remote support is required.

Time

Once the training has been completed the work can be begin very quickly. Most Job Clubs run for 2-3 hours one morning a week and some operate alongside other social action activities e.g. foodbanks or advice sessions

Cost

Jericho ask Ignition partners for a small contribution towards costs of just £50.00 per year.

Partnership

You will be encouraged to connect with job centres, other organisations and agencies in the area who mav provide referrals.

Support

Jericho provide l-day or 2-day training workshops for volunteers, help to promote your project, ongoing advice, and comprehensive resource materials with ready to use session plans, handouts and extension activity resources

Resources

You will need an appropriate room with internet access, a laptop (ideally three or four), printer, and use of a mobile phone.

People

Ideally, a lead volunteer, supported by 2 or 3 volunteers will be needed to run the job club and provide refreshments. However it is possible to start on a smaller scale with less people and adapt the provision accordingly.
