Green Pastures helps churches tackle homelessness in their community.
"The support that I've had has been absolutely amazing. I'm overwhelmed with all the support and activities and the fact that I've been given this lovely home and lots of opportunities."

Activity

Your church will house those who are homeless in properties identified by your church (with assistance and training from Green Pastures) and purchased by Green Pastures. You then place the residents, provide pastoral care and maintain the property. You will receive Housing Benefit income and use that to pay the lease payment to us.

Time

It will take you one-two months to complete your partner application form and establish your team. Then two weeks for Green Pastures to review your application and two-three months from offer accepted on a property to property completion. Each resident will require three hours of support per week by one or two church volunteers.

Cost

There are no direct financial costs to your church. Green Pastures provide the capital to purchase a property. They also ensure that the Housing Benefit income your church receives will be sufflcient to cover the lease payments and housing management. You will receive training so you can connect with local authorities to manage referrals, deal with Housing Benefit issues and liaise with other services your residents may need.
