Clean Sheet train up CV support volunteers to provide CV support to people with convictions - Clean Sheet Members - to help them find work after prison.

Activity

CV support volunteers are trained up to provide 5 hours of CV support to Clean Sheet Members (people with convictions) to help them in their search for work. Volunteers can also provide encouragement and support to people in prison through postcard messages and through praying for Clean Sheet Members.

Time

It may take up to 2-3 months to establish a team and complete the training. CV support volunteers will provide 5 hours of CV support per Clean Sheet Member over the course of a month. This will include direct remote contact with the Clean Sheet Member as well as time spent offline providing feedback on CVS. Volunteers involved in writing postcard messages will need to commit up to 1-2 hours per month, writing encouraging messages for people in prison. Those who pray will need to commit to praying daily, weekly or monthly for Clean Sheet Members or people in prison.

Cost

There are no costs involved in setting up the project, but you will need to pay for phone calls and any printing you may do. You will also need to pay for postage when sending the postcard messages back to us.

Partnership

You will need to make connections with the local prison and probation service to start building obtain referrals.

Support

CV support volunteers will receive initial and ongoing training. Volunteers involved in writing postcard messages will receive ongoing guidance on this area.

Resources

Volunteers will need to have access to Zoom (free account), a laptop and a phone in order to contact Clean Sheet Members. Volunteers involved in writing postcard messages will need pens, envelopes and time!

People

Volunteers need to have a good level of literacy, good interpersonal skills, be relatable, non-judgmental, calm under pressure, patient and able to build rapport with people from all walks of life.
