Each year Christmas Lunch on Jesus equips local churches to distribute Christmas hampers to families in need throughout various communities in the United Kingdom.

Activity
Volunteers distribute hampers giving support to those in need and telling of love of Christ. During doorstep visits to families, volunteers may pray with them if they would like it. Churches are encouraged to build relationships with other churches and charities in their area. For this project there are two options which are to have a franchise model or simply to order a number of hampers from CLOJ.
Time
Putting the team together, recruiting volunteers, liaising with churches, referral agencies and the local authority can all be done in 2 months. If you want to run a franchise model you will need to attend a one-day training session. If you just want to order hampers for the needy in your community, the training takes a maximum of 2 hours and it focuses on the role of volunteers.
Cost
There is a £500 one-off fee if you want to run the project as a franchise, then a cost of £25 per hamper with a minimum order of 50. Otherwise hampers cost £28 per hamper with no minimum order.
Partnership
The church needs to have good relationships with other local churches, as well as the local authority, referral agencies, banks and in some cases the police force.
Support
CLOJ provides volunteer training, fundraising training, training and support. They also provide networking support amongst churches, referral agency contacts, logistic solutions for delivery of the hampers to churches.
Resources
You will need a dedicated project officer, space to store the hampers, volunteers to help with distribution and list of delivery addresses from church or referral agencies.
People
Ideally an experienced project off icer, but any one with passion and good co-ordinating and organizing skills can lead. Anywhere from 2 - 50 caring volunteers is needed depending on the size of your project.
