Christian Boxing Alliance brings hope, order and discipline to people’s lives by delivering boxing sessions and sharing the good news of Jesus.
A desperate mother pleaded with us to take her 15 year old son into our boxing club, fearing he would get revenge after his relative had been shot dead. Instead of taking revenge, he won an award from a local mayor for his outstanding community work.
Activity
Bringing discipline to people’s lives by running boxing classes. Helping people to let out their aggression in a controlled environment. Delivering talks on faith using material from the boxing community and the bible. Facilitating discussion groups and speaking into people’s lives from a Christian perspective.
Time
Approximately 3 months. Sessions could be once per week for 2 hours or a fully affiliate amateur boxing club could be 5 days per week around 10+ hours.
Cost
Setting up can cost between £2000 and £6000. You may want something simple. Non contact boxing, just for fitness and fun. So, basic equipment will do. Or you may want to become a registered competitive cub. Therefore, you will need much more equipment, training , coaching and volunteer support.
Partnership
Our partners should build community relationships with local authorities, schools, police and youth centres. You will be able to work together on fundraising, safeguarding and wellbeing of your participants. . Our local youth centre lets us use their hall for free because they saw how the church blessed the community. They are now building us a permanent gym.

enables you to corner your boxer and coach at a competitive club under a level 2 coaches leadership

Resources
Space to run the sessions. Roughly 24ft long and 18 ft wide. Storage space to store equipment after the session. Roughly 4 by 3 metres.
Safeguarding: each church partnering with us must have their own safeguarding policy already in place. You must have your own church bank account with a with all appropriate checks and balances in place.
People
Volunteers and staff must have a DBS check and undergo safeguarding training.
Volunteer roles:
Evangelist: this is a person who attends the sessions, they must be connected with a local church and bring the Christian ethos to the club, delivering talks and discussions.
Boxing coach: teaching boxing
Registration: takes weekly register and deals with registration and participant consent forms.
