CAP provides your church with all the training and support to enable you to deliver a professional debt counselling tool that's proven to help some of the most vulnerable in society.

Activity
We do all the debt counselling centrally, allowing your Centre Manager to focus on supporting the clients spiritually and practically. This means your church won't have to worry about all the financial and legal knowledge, as our highly trained caseworkers at head office will take care of all that for you.
Time
Once the training has been completed, it will take several months to build a team of volunteers, advertise for donations and connect with care professionals. If there is already an established foodbank in your area, talk with them first to see if you could partner with them or support their work.
Cost
CAP ask churches to make a monthly contribution of £600 to cover the costs of running a CAP Debt Centre. Many churches will also choose to employ their Debt Centre manager in addition to this.
Partnership
CAP will help you to connect with local authorities and other organisations who can provide referrals.
Support
CAP provides all relevant training, including regional leadership events to enable volunteers to deliver a professional debt counselling service.
Resources
The CAP Debt Centre manager will require access to a computer, internet, and a mobile phone. They will also need transport to conduct home visits.
People
You will need one dedicated centre manager and a few volunteers who have great communication and people skills.
