Acts 435 is an online giving charity, directly connecting those who want to give with those who are known to have need through connections with a local church.
"It really is just so comforting to know there are people so kind as you. One day I hope I can do the same as you for someone else in need."

Activity

Church Advocates post requests for items needed by beneficiaries on the Acts 435 website. 95% of requests are met within two weeks, with 100% being met within one month.

Time

The training will take roughly an hour and then the project can be set up immediately. Advocates spend anywhere upwards of an hour a week managing the project, which includes small admin and computing tasks.

Cost

It doesn't cost anything to set up an Acts 435 project, but you may wish to invest in a team to help develop the initiative and to make contacts with the local community.

Partnership

It may be useful to connect with other organisations such as the Citizen’s Advice Bureau to identity beneficiaries.

Support

Acts 435 provides a training manual, connects volunteers with churches in the area who are also running the project and invites advocates to their annual gathering in York.

Resources

You will need a computer or tablet and internet access and can run the project from church or home.

People

One volunteer with basic computer and admin experience is needed to run the project.
