Garden Hope is one of our 2025 Cinnamon Incubator Competition finalists. On Thursday 13 November, they’ll be presenting their initiative at St Peter’s Church in Notting Hill for a chance to win £20,000 and a place on the Cinnamon Incubator Programme.
What we do
Garden Hope helps churches transform overgrown gardens while bringing hope to people and communities. By equipping volunteers with skills, training, and support, the project restores outdoor spaces, builds connections, and shares faith through practical action.
Our mission is simple: to transform gardens, transform lives, and transform communities — bringing hope for the garden and hope for the people we serve
How we change lives
With 16 years’ experience, Garden Hope has grown from a small church project into multiple teams and a social enterprise. While community impact is real, the deepest transformation has been in volunteers — growing in faith, confidence, and passion for mission.
Training, referrals, and partnerships followed, even leading many to faith. Housing associations now fund our work, strengthening the church’s reputation. We now mentor churches to bring this transformation to their own communities.
Our vision for the future
Wherever there are churches, overgrown gardens, and communities struggling with employment or disconnection — Garden Hope is needed.
In the next 5–10 years, we want to:
- Equip churches to launch garden transformation projects with strong foundations.
- Establish a national network of churches involved in garden transformation.
- Share our volunteer training model, resources, and courses to strengthen local teams.
- Empower churches to manage their own grounds maintenance, saving money over time.
- Host an annual conference to celebrate transformed gardens, lives, and communities — sharing best practice and inspiring stories.
