For the past ten years, The Cinnamon Incubator Programme has been helping start-up social projects to grow and replicate across the UK.
In fact, 53 projects have successfully completed the Incubator Programme. Of those 32 have gone on to replicate in 1,063 locations, impacting the lives of more than 160,000 beneficiaries.
What’s more, the value of time given by volunteers in those initiatives is estimated to be worth more than £30 million to society.
Many of those we’ve worked with, like Renew Wellbeing and Make Lunch, have gone on to become established charities working across the UK.
On Wednesday 15 November, five finalists will be pitching their ideas for a place on the Incubator Programme and a chance to win a development grant of £25,000.
Meet the Finalists
Big Green Heart support people individually and in groups to understand the power of forgiveness. To choose to forgive sets our hearts free and transforms us from the inside out. We use simple visual illustrations to show how the pain we hold on to affects the way we think and act.
Orchards provide safe housing and a nationwide counselling service for women who have been victims of sexual exploitation, so that they are empowered and can flourish independently. We work in partnership with local churches, training their congregations to become a welcoming space for survivors.
Revive – Women of Grace create safe spaces for women who have gone through the trauma of female genital mutilation (FGM). They provide advice, guidance, support and resilience building for affected women to heal, enjoy God’s love and thrive, so that they can live a fulfilled life. We also engage with the church community through awareness raising, educational workshops, talks, skills building activities for survivors, story sharing and peer support.
Someone Cares provides emotional, practical and spiritual support to families when they have a loved one admitted to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. This project links the Freedom Church to the hospital’s chaplaincy service, with volunteers offering support and prayers on the wards, as well as care packages for emergency admissions. This link also enables chaplains to call upon the skill sets within the broader church family; we have provided everything from debt advice to creative skills and signposting to other services.

Springboard is an 8-week course designed to benefit those experiencing both the emotional and practical challenges of separation and divorce. It is run through the local church network and facilitated by those who have walked the same journey themselves and wish to encourage and support others in their community.
